Sunday Funday Is Always More Fun During Football Season! And quite frankly Saturday college football might even be better! The key to successful entertaining is prep work so you can enjoy your own party, and your guests will appreciate being treated in effortless style.  Every great host knows that you set the mood for your guests with décor that matches your theme, great entertainment, and plenty of food and drinks.

Another very important rule of entertaining is seating, especially on game day.  You want your guests to be able to relax, and everyone should have an opportunity to see and hear the game.  If you have an outdoor TV or screen, set out a few tables and chairs, so your friends and family have a place to eat and socialize, which brings me to Game Day food and drinks!

Have fun with this one and be creative..  Maybe a gourmet hot dog bar or Build-Your-Own burger bar.  If you have a grill master in your home, this a fun idea that keeps your guests engaged.  Add a couple meatless options as well, such as Beyond Meat.  Pizza is always a good call for the kids, and if you’re up for it and have the space, I always have fun with build your own mini piazzas with them.

Appetizers like queso in a crockpot and chips and salsa are easy to have prepared when guests arrive.   Mini corn dogs are always a great starter during state fair season.  Use paper plates with a football theme so cleanup is that much easier.

Set up your bar the day before, and many times, it takes the pressure off you, the host to hire a bartender to come and serve guests, do drink refreshers, as well as pick up all those Red Solo Cups that get left everywhere.  Don’t forget the kiddos and make them a well stocked drink bar with waters, sodas, and juices.  I always buy the mini cans during a party since many times only half of a full-size soda gets finished.

Have a fun game planned that keeps people engaged and watching the game, and it always a great idea to set up a table with games for the kids.  Have a competitive corn hole tournament during halftime. I’ve got some great inspo on my Amazon board.
