80’s style is back in a big way this fall. We have to admit, at first we were wondering how we would pull this off. 80’s fashion isn’t always a forgiving look. However, after researching the trend and styling our own looks – we are obsessed! It’s so fun to take an older style and make it modern with contemporary touches and new vibes. If you break out into a cold sweat at the thought of permed hair and huge shoulder pads, don’t fret! You can pick and choose your favorites from the trend and update them to express your style. The point of making something old new again is that you can alter it to fit your taste. Check out some of our inspo and fave looks for fall 2018 80’s re-imagined…

When we think of the 80’s bright colors and exaggerated looks are what comes to mind. If you love the idea of electric colors and bold looks, this is the trend for you. Don’t shy away from making a statement. After all, that is what the 80s were all about!
We love an all black ensemble here at KF. Throw in a fabulous leather jacket and statement boots and you can guarantee we will be in it. Take the style and silhouette of the time and add in modern flair to easily create the perfect outfit.
You can still rock this trend if bold colors and styles aren’t your forte. More subdued hues and modernized silhouettes are the easiest ways to pull off this look. Blacks and neutrals are an easy way to take a style concept from the 80s and re-imagine them in a more modern style. Your choice in fabric will also make or break your look. A softer fabric such as silk won’t give off as strong of an 80s vibe.
Kathy wears the most fabulous vintage red dress from local Dallas store Jack Retro. She accessorizes it with a beaded belt and cheetah print shoes. Who could forget the matching earrings? Kathy wears red statement earrings from her boutique KF Design | Life | Style. This look perfectly portrays taking the 80’s into today. Although the dress is bold in color and silhouette, it is figure flattering as well as statement making with big sleeves, which Kathy cuffed to give her dress more of an 80s vibe.
This is the perfect look to take you from event to event. It brings the sass and style of the 80s in a current and relevant way. A blazer dress is so in style today and it is so 80’s. It’s larger lapels with a sheath gives the look a chic and vintage vibe. Kathy paired this cream vintage look from Jack Retro with St Laurent sky-high black heels for the perfect compliment to the dress.
