5 Exercises You Need Right Now

Yes, we know it’s true … You can’t spot reduce and being fit is about a lifestyle, but let’s face it, we are all busy and need a super quick workout here and there. It’s proven that even 10 minutes a day WILL improve your health, your muscle tone, and your metabolism. So…. We know there’s no excuse because even a busy lady like our EIC, Kathy Fielder carves out time 4 – 5 days a week for at least a few minutes to get in and stay in shape. Here are KF’s favorite 5 go to exercises when she’s in a pinch and needs to get a full body workout in fast (no gym even required)!

We pulled excerpts from the body groups that we work if we don’t have much time and gave you some workouts here to pick and choose from that are fast and furious, but totally effective in getting you fiercely fit.

Push-ups

Push-ups are the quintessential workout go-to exercise. Ever wander what muscles you are working during a push-up? It’s really pretty unbelievable and will motivate you to do them. Read more in livestrong.com.

Biceps, Triceps, and Shoulders.


Toned arns are essential for all those sleeveless tunics you need to wear. Let’s face it, we have all thought I don’t want to wear that tank – I haven’t been to the gym in two weeks! Squats

Abs


Yes!… We all want flat abs and the perfect 6-pack, but let’s face it, we’ve all heard the health benefits of toned abs too. Lessen your back pain, reduce your risk for heart disease and diabetes, and let’s not forget that confidence boost from the improved posture it brings you. Plié Squat


The plié squat to relevé is soooo effective working your inner thighs, quads, gluts, hamstrings, calves, and abs. It requires balance so tones that torso as you rise on to the balls of your feet. Adding in a small about of weight increases the benefits. You can also do them concurrently with Bicep curls or shoulder raises and work two major muscle groups at the same time. Do two sets of 20 and you are all set, no pun intended!
